About Me

This is my Genealogy journey....

Genealogy is the most wonderful of pastimes. I  Love it, and you should, too. There are endless reasons why. It is very exhiliarating and slightly addictive nature of mine of ancestor hunting. I love the ongoing mystery and stories to be told, with clues that I have to discover to put the pieces of the puzzle together. I can only go by facts, pictures and documentation to come to conclusions about my family's past. The mystery never ends, because there is no end to the amount of time you can potentially go back in to history with your family research. Yet, the more I discover, the more complete picture of my family I can put together and know where I come from. It's insanely rewarding, and the more I do it, the more I want to know. That's a given.

I didn't need any motivation to get me started, I have always loved learning about my grandfathers parents when I was a teen and he was alive to tell me stories about them and his childhood. There is nothing quite like tracking down unknown ancestores. My fathers Line is the "Humphries" family and this is where I started my research for his benifit as well as mine. I feel like as the days go by I am learning more about my ancestors , just when I thought the name was forever lost to history. A couple of times I have achieved victory over the infamous genealogy "brick wall", and rescued an ancestor or two from the mists of history, bringing them into the light and back to virtual life once more. I have found my husband's father and both my husband and I have met cousins- that we didn't even know about. I'm starting to research even further into my family history than I ever imagined I could and it's time to document my findings.

My ancestors are real, once living people, not just names on a sheet of paper or a computer program and more so I want to honor my ancestors. They deserve to be remembered, just as I would want to be remembered. In a very real way, I feel like I am doing a service to them by pulling them out of the obscurity of time and back into the present to re-introduce them to the many descendants they produced.

The thrill of the hunt, the adventure, and the excitement of getting to know my ancestors and living relatives i've never met are all wonderful reasons to love genealogy. I soon became a genealogy enthusiast. one of the most rewarding things I will ever do.

The daily adventure continues to discover the places, history and cultures that shaped who I am today- using primarily ancestry for my research online and my DNA. Most of which is made up for England and Northwestern Europe, Sweden & Denmark , Germanic Europe, Scotland and Norway.
